On the 8th of November Rudi OE5VRL and Gerald OE2IGL made first-ever 134 and 241GHz QSO in Austria! Congratulations!
QSO locator was JN78DK75, test distance was 53m as a starting point. Temp 10 °C, humidity 45%, pressure 903 mbar. Probably they can reach 8-10 km with this equipment. We are waiting for the news.
They used the next equipment:
OE5VRL Rudi:
- 47 cm prime focus dish
- Triband transverter for 122/134/241 GHz made by DB6NT
- Noise figure between 25-30 dB at 241 GHz
- Tx power is unknown at the moment.
OE2IGL Gerald:
- 63 cm offset dish with the dual-mode horn
- Triband transverter for 122/134/241 GHz made by DB6NT
- Same NF and unknown Tx power.
Both stations use GPS reference frequency and oscillator PLL board ZLPLL14G made by ZL2BKC.
